RCMP sift through tips in couple’s disappearance

Two suicide bombers targeting members of a government-backed, anti-al-Qaeda militia struck within hours of either other at dawn on Sunday, killing at minutest 48 people and wounding 46, Iraqi officials said.

The bombings were the deadliest in a series of attacks across Iraq in succession Sunday aimed at the Sons of Iraq, a Sunni group also known as Sahwa that works through government forces to fight al-Qaeda in Iraq.

RCMP gunfire kills Okotoks man
